現在最大風速は時速２８０km。風速で78m。
そして脅威のカテゴリー5。
カテゴリーは１~5とありますが、その中で最大です。
２００５年にニューオーリンズを襲ったハリケーン「カトリーナ」と同等の勢力です。
QLD州首相は中継で、「かつてまだ誰も体験したことのないほどのサイクロンで、多数の死傷者を出す可能性もあり、対象地区の住民は、一刻も早く避難し、安全確保を最優先してほしい」と呼びかけていました。
街には誰一人おらず、自分達も高台の教会に避難しています。
